Tools needed to perform petiole injections using the Mauget capsules:
A. Feeder tube.
B. Insertion tool(or a similar tool
you prefer).
C. GEN II 3 Step capsule featuring
Versalock™.
D. A battery operated drill 11/64”
drill bit (preferably hi helix).
E. Tape measure or diameter tape.
F. Plastic or soft ended mallet.
G. Compression tool to fit if needed.
* Use a 5 gallon paint bucket to hold all your tools, and a small bungie cord to
connect the bucket to the ladder, so your hands will be free for the procedure.
* A hand pruner should also be included in your bucket. When you do palms with
spines (Phoenix species) you can cut the spines off in the petiole injection area so
not to injure yourself.
* A sterilization solution or/and butane torch to sterilize the drill bit as you
move from palm to palm. (see table: materials and time for disinfecting pruning tools)
* Consult product label for specific directions.
* Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) required.
